Want to see how they harvest a kidney?

Here are Katie's war wounds in all of their glory. The only way she can actually see the big incision is by looking at the pictures, because bending isn't really a possibility at the moment.

Supposedly everything will be all healed up and the pain with be completely gone within the next couple of weeks (as early as 2 weeks, we hear).

I think the surgeon could have at least made it all look like a smiley face and put the eyes in the right place!! What a wonderful gift you have given to your mom, Katie! My best to you all. Cheryl

Katie, you remind me of when I had my hysterectomy. I was walking the stairs at the hospital the day after surgery. I was so bored! The surgeon threatened me with a possible hernia if I did not stop it.

Anyway, we missed you all at the children's concert yesterday. Sarah, I was frightened by all those children! I may have to go into counseling about it (by the way, Anne and I are going to be grandmas). Performance went well and we are looking forward to your voices and smiling faces back. Keep healing! Love, Peggy

Dear Paula and Katie,
You are looking so great and keep on impressing me with your strength.
You are in my thoughts. I sent a card and hope it will reach you well, keep on the lookout! :) I hope you’ll like it.
Sarah, keep up with the great blog entries! They are so funny and real!
I feel like I was there after reading your stories :)
Relax, heal, love.
